Strengthening emergency and critical care across the Pacific
We believe in the power of collaboration, trust, and sustainability to build resilient healthcare systems. Our mission is to enhance emergency and critical care capacity across Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, and the broader Pacific region, ensuring that every individual has access to timely and effective care.
Overview of the RECSI program
The Regional Emergency and Critical Care Systems Strengthening Initiative (RECSI) is a collaborative effort led by a consortium of healthcare organisations committed to improving emergency and critical care in the Pacific region. Supported by the Australian Government through the Partnerships for a Healthy Region (PHR) initiative, RECSI focuses on enhancing healthcare systems, building workforce capacity, and improving emergency preparedness across Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific region.
Our valued partners
RECSI is a collaborative effort supported by a consortium of technical organisations committed to improving emergency and critical care in the Pacific region. Our partners include Alfred Health, Monash University, the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society, the National Critical Care & Trauma Response Centre, the Pacific Community, St John Ambulance Papua New Guinea and Menzies School of Health Research. Together, we work towards healthcare systems strengthening and sustainable healthcare.
RECSI is supported by the Australian Government via the Partnerships for a Healthy Region (PHR) initiative. The initiative will help build resilient and equitable health systems in the Pacific and Southeast Asia, supporting partner countries to reduce disease risks, burdens and respond effectively to health emergencies.
