Sarah Bornstein
Sarah bornstein RN is an emergency nurse based in Darwin who has worked in Emergency Departments (EDs) across Australia for over a decade. Since 2018, Sarah has focussed her work and research in the Pacific, including facilitating the implementation of new models of care in several Papua New Guinean EDs, emergency care support during the COVID-19 pandemic, and more recently as a clinical nurse consultant in Vanuatu focussing on health emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
Sarah holds a Master of Global Health, a Master of Clinical Nursing with emergency specialisation, a Master of Nursing, and a Bachelor of Arts. She is co-chair of the Global Emergency Care Community of Practice (GECCoP), and actively contributes to global emergency care research, education, and forums across the region.
Within RECSI, Sarah holds roles as the Nursing Advisor for Emergency Care, and the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Co-ordinator for the program. Sarah hopes that RECSI provides a platform for genuine collaboration in the region, and an opportunity to strengthen local leadership, systems, and initiatives.
