Pacific Basic Emergency Care Provider and ToT Training
Stream:
Pacific
Discipline:
Emergency Care
Overview
The Basic Emergency Care course was first developed in 2018 by the World Health
Organization (WHO) in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross
(ICRC) and the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM). It is designed for
frontline providers of emergency care and provides a safe and structured approach to
managing the acutely ill and injured.
After consultation with local emergency care leaders, RECSI and SPC are supporting the delivery of this regional BEC ToT course that aims to further develop a pool of qualified trainers for the Pacific region who can sustainably deliver training in their own countries and settings.
Participation in the program is a first step on a pathway to becoming a certified and independent BEC course facilitator.
