Overview
Open Acute Care (OAC) was launched in October 2024 by the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Emergency, Critical and Operative Care at Johns Hopkins University, with support from the United States Agency for International Development. OAC serves as a repository for reliable, open-access tools and resources related to emergency, critical and operative care, with relevance to resource-variable settings.
OAC also serves as a joint platform for other WHO collaborating centres or other institutional partners who have an aligned goal of expanding access to acute care services across the globe.
OAC houses an open-access resource library of acute care educational resources for medical educators and learners, short courses, an illustration library, and tools to customize job aids. Our resource library includes curated and original content that can be used for training at various levels and for multiple healthcare cadres. The materials are suited for independent learning as well as integration into institutional training programs and curricula.
