Overview
Recordings from this webinar series will be shared on this page.
There is a growing consensus that building primary health care (PHC)-oriented health systems is the best approach for countries to achieve the goals of universal health coverage (UHC). But do we have the health workforce that can deliver on PHC?
What should the PHC team look like if the population health needs are to be met with person-centred care that is comprehensive, continuous and coordinated?
How does it compare with the current PHC workforce in the Western Pacific countries?
What kind of workforce policies can help in addressing the gap?
We aim to raise and discuss the above questions through a series of webinars that will cover the “design” part, i.e., visualizing the composition of PHC teams, mapping what exists on ground in the Westen Pacific, and the current evidence on reforms that can help countries in shaping their workforce for what PHC demands.
