Venancio Pinto

Menzies Representative

Venancio Pinto is the Head of Programs at Menzies School of Health Research Timor-Leste, where he provides strategic leadership and oversight of a diverse portfolio of health research, health systems strengthening, and capacity development initiatives. Working in close partnership with the Ministry of Health, National Hospital Guido Valadares (HNGV), the National Institute of Health (INSP-TL), and other national and international stakeholders, he supports the design, implementation, and management of programs aimed at improving health outcomes across Timor-Leste.


With over a decade of experience in public health, health systems strengthening, and development program management, Venancio has held senior technical and leadership positions with organizations including USAID and UNICEF. He holds a Master of Public Health and has extensive experience in policy development, health service delivery, stakeholder engagement, and program governance.


As Menzies’ representative on the RECSI Steering Committee, Venancio provides strategic oversight and contributes to strengthening partnerships, governance, and program implementation. He is committed to advancing evidence-informed decision-making and supporting sustainable improvements in emergency and critical care services, health systems, and research capacity in Timor-Leste.
